NOT VEGAN. CONTAINS MILK.The label on this package says, "vegan friendly". This is NOT vegan friendly. I have an actual picture of the ingredients attached to my review. It says this product contains milk ingredients. This is NOT vegan. My family and I get sick from dairy because we are not use to it and now I am sick to my stomach because I trusted the "vegan friendly" label. I can't imagine if someone had an actual allergy to milk and trusted the label.1Very good protein sourceI don't do so well with most protein powders because I'm lactose intolerant and they mostly give me horrible gas. I was excited to give this one a shot as the ingredient label seemed very different from all the others in that it is plant protein and not whey. I did notice that it is made in the same place as whey proteins but was hopeful that it would be different and not give me the negative effects of other whey proteins. I will say this, I still experienced some gas. It was not as severe as it would have been with whey but it was noticeable. As far as the protein and it's positive effects I was very pleased. I consumed it mid morning usually right after a workout and on some days again in the afternoon between lunch and dinner as a snack. It wasn't the best flavor but it was still pretty good and seemed to mix quite easily in a shaker. Simple directions, simple ingredient panel, and simple to drink. It seemed to work very well as fuel for my muscles and helped with recovery. I was glad to have tried it and pleased with the results, other than the gas, but that is not a fault of the company. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a good protein source without a bunch of filler.4NOT vegan. Contains milk product!!If you are vegan and you enjoy adding plant based protein powder to your diet, do not be fooled by this product (like I was). I thought I looked at it carefully, but alas, I didn't see the small, small print. This product uses deceptive advertising by calling it "plant-based NUTRITION" instead of plant based PROTEIN". It is meant to deceive you. Why does that matter? Because it contains milk product!! But it doesn't specify what that milk product is even. This could be really bad if you're allergic to dairy. And it doesn't state it on front of container. It's meant to look like Orgain brand. Don't buy if you're vegan.1Impressed!My doctor wanted me to get away from eating so many carbs for breakfast (I m a cereal everyday kind of girl). I also work out nearly everyday, so I m in need of fuel, and a Flight Attendant, so I m in need of quick and easy. This product delivers all of the above. I ve been using it as a breakfast meal replacement and I ve been impressed by how long it actually holds me over. When I m flying I pack enough powder for my trip and my blender cup, and can sip it while I get ready for work. At home I sit and enjoy it with my coffee, then work out. Convenience wise, this stuff is awesome! I do add a little cinnamon to it for extra flavor. On a side note: I do have to continue to shake the blender bottle in between sips due to settlement on the bottom.Taste: my first purchase was the vanilla and it s good! It s not the most amazing thing I ve had in my life, but it s not bad at all. Besides cinnamon I only add water. It s creamy and not gritty. I love that it has loads of protein in it too. It s very comparable to Shakeology (I think it may have more protein and less carbs than shakeology). I love Shakeology, but not the price. For a month, they re wanting $130. Sorry, but it s not worth paying that much for essentially the same product. I will be buying this product again, next time I m going to try the chocolate. I do wish they had more flavors though!5Everything you want in a protein powderI've used this protein powder for years and I like it because it doesn't congest the system like many whey proteins do. It's also naturally sweetened, no maltitol or other artificial sweeteners. I blend it with frozen berries, coconut milk and water (sometime through in a little yogurt) and it tastes great. I use it for part of my breakfast a few times a week, along with a small bowl of quinoa, maple syrup and walnuts. If you just want to drink it with water you're going to have to gulp it down, but a few very small healthy additions makes it great. As the author of a book on nutrition and weight loss, I highly recommend this product!!5IMPORTANT: The nutritional facts for the "organic protein" ARE NOT the same as the "plant-based protein"I originally bought these shakes because I like the nutritional value - a great balance of protein and fiber, and a lot of vitamins. I bought the berry flavor because it was the only flavor that they had in my local drugstore at the time. Let me tell you, the berry left a lot to be desired. It was green-ish in color and tasted terrible. I forced my way through half of the canister, pretending that it was vanilla to try to get through it. I ended up throwing the other half away.I was planning on finding a different protein shake powder, when one day I walked into a store and found the vanilla! And it was so delicious! I have bought the vanilla flavor several times now and I still love it. Last time I went to the store to get some, I decided to try something new and get the chocolate. Not my favorite. Even mixed with my soy milk, it still tasted like watery chocolate milk. Not the worst thing ever, but not as creamy as the vanilla. With the vanilla, I could mix it with water and still be satisfied with the flavor. Not so much with the chocolate. Oh well.I will say this. I have been drinking these for over a year now for my breakfast or post-workout protein fix (sometimes both!) and if I don't drink it for a couple days, I find myself CRAVING it. I know that I'm getting a lot of nutrients out of it because I even found myself craving the berry flavor, and I could not stand that flavor. Also, there is a very noticeable difference in my "bowel habits". Let me put it this way, it helps me to be consistently regular, and I can definitely tell the difference when I stop drinking my shakes.I am 100% satisfied with these shakes and I will continue to purchase them for a long time!UPDATE: I have reduced my review from 5-stars to 3-stars because I recently bought the vanilla flavor from Amazon because I thought it would save me a trip to the store. I thought the vanilla protein just had a new label, but when I received it, I realized that it does NOT have even half of the vitamins that the "plant-based" vanilla protein has. Also, the flavor is VASTLY different between the two. This protein is slightly chalky and weird, while the other was creamy and delicious. I will be going to the store from now on to make sure that I get the plant-based version because a main reason that I was drinking it was to up my vitamin intake. I am very disappointed by this turn of events.3Terrible stomach painIt is a good flavor and tastes good with almond milk... but I started getting terrible stomach pains. I'm actually worried it may have caused something, I'm going to the doctor in a week (I promise I'm not a hypochondriac). I've been taking it for breakfast and lunch along with food for a little over a month (I took two scoops a day combined, then about three a day for the last couple weeks) before I correlated it with my stomach pains. I had just switched a prescription as I started taking it so I thought it was that. Well, I've been off the medication for three weeks now, and I still had continuing stomach pains and started getting irregular bowel movements. I travelled for holiday and didn't drink it for about three days and my stomach felt so much better. I started it up again and immediately my stomach started hurting again. Another woman left a review on here stating which ingredients were harmful and caused the same thing for her, so I did my own research to confirm and sure enough. Really disappointed, I try not to buy unless FDA approved, but I figured this would be fine since it is USDA organic. Unfortunately supplement products go so unregulated so I was excited to try this and thought maybe it'd be better quality. Won't be buying again and I have the added expense of a trip to the doctor.1Misleading product information.I originally bought his because it was suppose to be dairy and soy free which it apparently is not. Love this product.Changing This from a 5 to a 1 star. I don t know if the company changed the product but if so, Amazon needs to update their site. I received my new shipment of this to find the labels have changed. Suddenly it now contains milk products and doesn t say it is 100% plant based any more. As a vegan I was highly disappointed to see this and very thankful I read the label again before consuming. I use to love this product but now I am disappointed with the company and highly disappointed in Amazon.1Not 100% Plant BasedThe product description and pictures of the ingredients are in accurate on this product. The pictures indicate that it is processed in a facility that also processes milk. The product delivered is exactly the same as the pictures with one exception, the label reads Contains milk & soy ingredients. Very deceptive.1
