I previously bought teavana Samurai chai, which is good but not worth the asking price. Starbucks ruinedctgat chain. This is a very good economical alternative. I use a tea press and add cream rather than cooking it up with milk. Milk scalds to easily and I m too impatient to stir constantly. Chai teas are great. This one is no exception. 4.5 stars if I could give it. I do like Chai that uses some Mate or Oolong, but that stuff isn t worth the $50+ when good black tea alternatives exist. This has lots of round nuggets. I m not sure what that is, but it makes a good mug of Chai. 4Really good chai tea.I've tried various different chai teas here on Amazon and I think this one is the best I've tried thus far. It has a little spice to it but maintains a healthy balance. I make mine with steamed milk and stevia to add some sweetener, but I imagine it's just as good black. I'll also add that the leaves are not ground down to a fine dust and there is very little sediment that works its way through my strainer. The last tea I bought here was ground down to a fine powder, so this is a welcome benefit. 5Best Chai I've ever tastedThis is truly the best chai I've ever bought and I've tried more than a dozen. The price is amazing for tea of such high quality. Just taking a sniff puts me in a good mood. Very highly recommend. 5Recipe for delicious Masala Chai tea!This is outstanding Masala Chai Tea, smooth flavor, so delicious! Thank you Vahdam-- you are the BEST!!So here is an authentic Indian recipe to make a delicious cup of Masala Chai tea (thank you Nupur @ Vahdam for providing this great recipe!!)--This tea is CTC Tea (which stands for Crush, Tear and Curl Tea). It looks like small black granular balls and is supposed to be *boiled* in milk and water to get its true strength and flavour (and NOT steeped in hot water like leaf tea). Nupur advised this is how Indians have it every single day:Step 1: Put 180 ml of water to boil and just as it starts to bubble, toss in 1-1.5 teaspoons of the tea (2-3 grams)Step 2: Let the leaves play around for about 2-3 minutes.Step 3: Add milk as per your liking. (Generally the ratio of water:milk is 2:1 ). Allow the chai to simmer for 2 to 5 minutes. Let the chai come to a boil again, and once again after that, until it begins to look TOFFEE-coloured (caramel coloured)Step 4: Toss in sugar as per your liking to enhance the taste.Step 5: Turn off the heat, strain chai into a mug and enjoy! 5Freshest tea and spices ever!This is by far the freshest, richest tasting tea we've ever tried. The aroma is very deep, the spices obviously fresh because of their sharpness and the blend is just right. Not too much clove, or too much Cinnamon, just enough to make a wonderfully spicy cup of tea. We only use about 1 Tbs/Keurig cup and it comes out great. 5True masala flavorMy family and I have been enjoying Vadham teas for a little more than a year now. We started by trying out their lovely sample packs first because they have such a large and interesting selection. I don't think that we found a single tea that was a "dud", they were all good, though we all had our favorites.For our daily "cuppa" that we enjoy with both cream and sugar we chose the Original Masala Chai Tea. It is a subtly spiced tea with a balanced palate that holds up against the cream which will blunt the spice flavor of a lesser masala tea. Our American palates were a bit overcome by the Double Masala Chai, though I think that I personally could develop a taste for it in rather short order I was outvoted by the rest of my family.I love this tea, it holds it's flavor even when it becomes cold. We tend to pour large cups of tea so it will get cold by the time we come to the end of the cup.One bit of advice to enhance the experience; I either stir or swirl my tea as I get to the bottom of the cup because the spice powder will gather in the bottom making for a grainy last mouthful. Such is the price of tea that has spices added to it! This is how you know that the tea is flavored with actual spices and not some sort of flavoring.Also, be sure to re-close your bag of tea every time because the flavors will fade if the tea is allowed to sit open to the air. If you do not consume some 8-10 big hanking cups a day like my family, then buy smaller quantities for best taste as the fresh spices and fresh tea will lose some flavor if left to sit for more than a couple of months. Of course, if you are used to the tea that is usually sold in the U.S., then you may not notice so much. I know that I did not realize the difference between fresh tea and not so fresh before drinking the Vadham teas! Thanks to the Vadham company, I have become a bit of a "tea snob" because they are so amazingly fresh and the taste does tell.On the whole, I highly recommend all Vadham teas and I especially love the Original Masala Chai. 5I HAVE FINALLY FOUND IT!!!!Since my 1st glass of Chia Iced Tea several years ago I have been searching too replicate that wonderful dance on my taste buds... after many, many, many misses, I am THRILLED to say "I found it!!!" I can't begin to express my ELATION!!! And add an added bonus, this product helps thone small farmers who are most often run over by the truck that is mass production... I highly rec center this product to anyone looking for a QUALITY TEA... High end taste on a budget!!! 5Great Chai, but prepare to experiment to get your best resultThis is a great chai blend, but you need to experiment a bit to get it right since the spices/ingredients are dried not fresh.The basic is 1 cup whole milk (not skim, almond or any other variation.. it really doesn't work right) to 2 cups of water. Mix in a pot about twice as large as the liquid displacement. Bring to a full boil then add a full teasp. Boil for 2 full minutes, then use a fine-sieve to a large Pyrex container to portion out to cups... add sugar.*** Do not use with just water and brew like a black tea. It is at best bland, worse bitter.My best results have been 1 cup milk / 1.5 cups of water. Bring to a full boil with foam climbing the sides. Take off heat until foam collapses, the repeat. Add a teasp of tea, lower heat and cook at rolling boil (little foam) for at least 2 minutes, but no more than 3. A fine-sieve is needed due to small particles. I usually have a cup hot and pour the other cup into a mason jar a refrigerate as a treat for later. 5Amazing Tea from an Excellent CompanyEver since I moved to the US, I have craved a cup of decent English Breakfast Tea. Based on the reviews, I purchased a bag of Vadham's English Breakfast Tea. Unfortunately for me, the tea was not what I was hoping for. I contacted Vadham customer service to advise them of this, and their response was amazing. They sent me, free of charge, a large selection of sample teas (over 30). I have been trying a different sample every day, and rating the sample. This Original Chai was one the samples they sent. Although it is not an English Breakfast Tea, I absolutely loved it. It is rich, fragrant, and ever soooo tasty. I loved it so much, I got straight on Amazon, and ordered this larger bag.There are also a few other Vadham samples that I will be purchasing larger sizes of, but what has impressed me, even more than the excellent quality of their teas, is their excellent customer service, and the lengths they will go to make a customer happy. Excellent Tea from an excellent company. 5... I ran out of my supply recently and took a chance on Vahdam Teas. I have been disappointed many times purchasing tea in the US. It just has never been the same and the "good stuff" I would bring home. But, my wife and I were completely surprised by the quality and freshness of this product. It is BETTER than what I thought was already the best. I highly recommend this tea and hope you enjoy it as much as we have. 5
