Irritating delay between signal through ear phones and sound from television speakers.I have used a TV Ears Digital system for several years. Aside from a miserable process of replacing the battery in the headset, it worked well. However, it finally gave out and I bought the new version of what I thought was the same thing. I have an ordinary television set with cable and DVR. I installed the new system the same way I did the previous one, but when I listened to it I heard a delay between the TV Ears signal to my head phones and sound from the television. It worked fine with the mute on, but my wife might object to the lack of sound. It was unusable. When I finally got through to a tech person (they aren't in their office on week ends), he suggested a work-around with my television, but my roughly seven years old Panasonic lacked the proper setting ability. He then asked if I had bought it from Amazon (yes) and intimated that the Amazon version was inferior to one that I could have bought directly from TV Ears!Also, every time I turn on the television I get electronic gibberish through the head phone. This is corrected by pulling the power source and re-attaching it or doing the same thing with the fiber optic cable from the television to the TV Ears device. I have no desire to go through that routine every time I want to watch television. Was this Amazon's fault also?This is not an inexpensive device and it ought to work after making a few simple connections with little fuss. I will return it.1Doesn t address today s broadcast technology!I am really disappointed with the product set up and tech support. We thought we had it set up properly when the digital cord worked in the TV audio output for my cable channels. However, we discovered none of the apps that came through my smart TV worked (Netflix, Amazon, etc), my Apple TV and the associated networks or my DVR for movies. We immediately called the tech line to see what to do since the manual was NOT clear. After waiting 30 minutes hearing how busy they were they ended the call by saying they would call me back. Well it has been over 24 hrs and we haven t heard from anyone. Additionally the sound varies as you slightly move which is annoying. The biggest issue however is The manual isn t clearly addressing today s technology and broadcast set ups. I will search for a better alternative and more than likely return the product.1There is not voice clarifying.I have used the original TV Ears and the 5.0 Analog TV Ears for 8-10 years until the 5.0 Analog version developed static. The Original headset broke after about 4-5 years and I purchased the 5.0 Analog TV Ears. The original clarified the voices best of the two for me. To replace the 5.0 Analog TV Ears, I purchased this 5.0 Digital TV Ears and it is terrible. The Sound is muffled with Bass frequencies and you cannot get to treble with the adjustment on the earpiece unit. Also there is no longer a Balance adjustment which I require as one ear is worse than the other. It is so bad, I am in the process of returning the 5.0 Digital TV Ears. I will try other brands.1Wasted my money.Product delivered on May 17, 2017, however by August 18, 2017 the left ear piece quit working. Naturally the product support was no longer available as of July 16, 2017. I wouldn't spend the money for a second set of TV ears simply because they have no value or product support after 60 days. Big waste of money and disappointed in Amazon for selling this product.1Warranty Costs $39.95The 5.0 product arrived and was installed per instructions. Nothing but static from the optical setup. Called customer support and they determined the transmitter was probably bad. The solution under their warranty was to me to spend $39.95 for a replacement transmitter. RightGoing back to Amazon and may not bother to try again1Does no work for longI bought this device several years ago and it worked for quite awhile. Then a few months ago I bought another one, as my hearing is not very good. It worked for about 6 weeks and then stopped. I tried several things, including buying a "base" unit, that didn't fit properly and then bought another "head set", that works, but has a slight humm, that now seems to getting worse. It's beyond the return date, I advise great cauton before this purchase - - the quality has gone downhill.1My second set of TV ears.This is my second set of TV ears. I had to replace the old one only because of the need for the digital ones. When I received the first digital headset, it was terribly uncomfortable as the design is greatly different than the first set that I got in 2008. I called and was sent a second replacement set which were similar in design but a little more tolerable. The sound is great, but I am still adjusting to the comfort of the headset. That's why I didn't give it 5 stars. It's just very uncomfortable in the ears. The rep said you can bend them to be bigger but the problem is that they stick way inside the ear. They sent me rubber tips,instead of the foam that comes with it, but it seems like they don't really stay on the headset. I love the product, just not happy with the redesign of the headset. If you can get used to the headset, I think you will love the product. Also, I don't think the battery lasts as long as the old one, only about 4-5 hours. The old one I had lasted longer. I never had a problem with my first set that I purchased and hope that I get used to this new set.4These TV Ears work so well, I never want to be without them.I LOVE THESE THINGS! I am a night owl and my husband goes to bed at 10. The TV is right against our bedroom wall so for years I have worn earbuds plugged into the Roku remote and hassled with the wire getting tangled in my throw, cushions and arms. These TV Ears work so well, I never want to be without them. The sound is so clear and I barely have to turn the volume up at all. The longest I have worn them was when I first got them. I watched TV for 7 hours - straight, from 10pm to 5am when I was binge watching a series and the battery didn't run out, nor did the sound quality diminish. I was very impressed with that. I wear them up on my head like other headphones instead of down against my chest (which is uncomfortable and restricting to me). I use mini claw hair clips to keep them in place...works like a charm, just make sure you have the front of the headphones facing the receiver or you may get static.5Great product.These are amazing! I highly recommend these to anyone who has a hearing loss. But also, these are great for one person to watch TV with no sound at all from the TV while the other can read in pure quiet. They are also useful to hear muffled voices on programs that are hard to hear or with more background noise. Really great product, but make sure to connect the source to the Cable box itself, not to the TV.5Great PurchaseHusband: loves the clarity. Wife: loves the peace and quiet. Sanity at last. Downsized to an apartment and although they don't know it the neighbors love it also. During set up could not get it to work following the instructions, called the company and they had us to return it. Got the replacement and the same thing happened techs were no help but consulted YouTube postings and found that for our tv, a Samsung, one of the settings needed to be changed to be compatible with the TV ears. Voila! they work great.5
