Not effective for treating trigger fingerI almost didn't buy this splint because of the photo showing how it is supposed to be worn because it didn't seem to be correct. However, after reading comments, I was willing to give it a try. I should have gone with my first instinct and not purchased it. I thought this splint was supposed to keep my finger from bending so it wouldn't get locked in position. That's not going to happen if you wear it the way the instructions indicate. I even tried flipping it so the flat part actually supported my finger [instead of my palm] and it worked a bit better to keep my finger from bending, but it was still frustrating to use. I was disappointed with the performance of this splint and would not recommend it to treat trigger finger. 1Excellent.What a find. After banging a finger last year, when moving furniture, I developed a trigger finger...on my right hand. Very bothersome. My physician said there are three levels of treatment. First, use a splint to see if tendon will get back to normal. Next, would be steroid shot, lastly hand surgery. Several friends have had the latter, with only so-so success, so I was willing to try Option One. I then tried several variations of splints, including a metal one, which were all awkward. But, this one works just fine. It took a few days to get used to it, but it prevents me from fully bending the affected joint--- which is just the rest it needs. I am several into using it, and finger is greatly improved. I need to give it more time, which is not a problem. I have been so pleased with this that I have purchased several, so they are accessible in multiple spots...since I remove when hand washing, etc. 5It becomes one with your hand, it s as if you don t even have it on! Real deal healerWhat an incredible finger find. If I could I would give it a TEN STAR Rating. It s so light and hardly feels like you re wearing anything. It basically becomes one with your hand. Price is on point and it s so helpful. I usually don t take the time to write reviews because life is nonstop but this product stopped me in my tracks and now I m finding myself actually writing a review. It s only been a few days since it s arrived but I m already feeling ecstatic about it!! If you re reading this comment then the answer is YES, this product is for you!! I am a massage therapist constantly using my hands and I meet people with all types of issues. I will be buying more for any client who comes presenting this issue. Thank you Hand fix 5Amazing splint for trigger fingerI was leery of this splint, I had tried so many different splints and none were comfortable enough to wear for a few hours at a time. I often take them off without thinking about it. Well this splint is so comfortable that I can wear it 24 hours a day. It demobilised the finger without interfering with anything in my day to day life. I can type, cook and about anything and I often forget I have the splint on. Since I can wear this all the time my finger is starting to feel better. I highly recommend this splint. There was one con to this splint. I have large fingers and the splint fits perfectly however the velcro on the strap that holds the it in your finger was rubbing a raw spot on my finger. I cut a small piece of cloth and put it on the velcro that would touch my finger. This solved the problem perfectly. Design wise there is little the creator of the splint could do to fix this since smaller fingers needs the velcro there. 5Great product to help with trigger-fingerI have trigger-finger on my middle finger that comes and goes. While it acts up, I use an Oval-8 Finger Splint during the day, but I use this product at night when I sleep-- it's more comfortable for me than the Oval-8 while I sleep and it works very well for me. My only issue using it during the day is with driving: this splint keeps the finger from bending at the top knuckle, so it makes it a bit weird holding the steering wheel (and looks like I'm making a hand gesture with my middle finger sticking up!!) but it's still perfect for going to bed with. 5This worked perfectly for me.Was extremely skeptical something this small could help my trigger finger/tendon issue. After dealing with the pain for 4 weeks, after I made an appointment with a hand specialist, I decided to give this a try. Shocked it worked immediately. Took me a minute or two to figure out exactly how to wear it - I'd suggest reading the directions before guessing. Have worn it the past 24 hours and have only taken it off a couple times to wash my hands. Ouch - when I take it off, my finger hurts again but no surprise. Excellent temporary remedy for trigger finger. I'll post an update after my doctor's appointment next week as well as a longer term review. Thank you, HandFix! 5Comfortable and easy to wear all day longI love this splint. Very easy to wear all day long.I had trigger finger release surgery on my right hand 4 weeks ago. I have the same issue with my left hand. I plan to wear this splint daily on the left. In combination with ice therapy, I'm hoping to get that tendon inflammation to subside.I occasionally switch the splint to the right hand to protect the surgery site/scar. The scar is a bit sensitive if I bump it on the edge of something. The pad that extends down the palm covers and protect that scar. It also serves as a reminder to avoid gripping with the affected finger to avoid damage to the healing tendon sleeve. 5Great Product!I came down with trigger finger for the first time. I knew I needed something not too awkward, keep me from curling my index finger during the night, and would fit my petite finger. At first I thought this was pricey, but found it worth it. The nice feature is that it can be used on either hand, plus it is well made. It took me a couple of nights to realize it was best to use it according to the picture. The first night, I placed the "tongue" toward the tip of my finger instead of toward the palm of my hand. I wouldn't recommend that because that is not the natural curve of the hand. 5Good for small hands, but expensiveThe price is really steep, but the product itself is really good. I have very small hands and this fits on my middle and ring fingers (still too big for pinky though). It is made to fit on much MUCH larger hands, so I'm glad it fits on mine. Good material, but I wish it was more washable and I'd like a water repellent version for doing dishes as that is one chore that gives me a hard time. A cheaper "for when wet" version that is less comfortable but works would be nice. It would also be nice to see a version where the metal insert can be removed for washing. Just looking at the product I can see a design that would make that possible, but would be a little fancier to construct. I'll likely disassemble one some day and build the washable version for myself since now that I have this I can use my hand again. Overall excellent product, but a steep price tag for something that holds sweat and will need replacement frequently as the smell can not be completely gotten rid of. Too expensive to keep multiples of in case one get's wet. I got a cheaper back up version for now. 5Works like a charm!Received this item yesterday and slept with it on my ring finger last night. It is soft and comfy and unobtrusive. First time in weeks I haven't awakened with my finger stuck to my palm. If you have trigger finger, you know how painful it is to straighten it out when that happens.I have large (swollen) fingers the one I used it on measures just under 3" and there was still plenty of velcro strap to spare. I think this would fit just about any finger (very thin fingers might need to trim the velcro strap a bit). What an ingenious little device. Thank you so much! 5
