I settled on the Stakich as being every bit as consistently good as the pricier alternative (minus the propolis capThis Stakich honey is my on-line alternative to the 5 lb. jar of unfiltered, raw honey that I was previously buying locally, at The Vitamin Cottage. Unlike the local-access honey, the Stakich honey has no propolis/bee pollen cap, but otherwise, is every bit as quality; thick, cloudy/deep 'honey blond',and very tastey. When TVC upped the price to over $50 for the same-sized 5 lb. jar, I went on-line in search of a more reasonably priced alternative. After trying several, I settled on the Stakich as being every bit as consistently good as the pricier alternative (minus the propolis cap; which some folk would no doubt dislike). The Stakich runs 60% the price of the local alternative; and is delivered free to my door, in a timely fashion (2 day/Amazon Prime). Before settling on Stakich, I also sampled sources from local apiaries. Unfortunately, I found that all the local apiaries I tried catered to the mass market; meaning the honey was heavily filtered, and only available in pricey, smaller jars (the largest being 1 qt. Mason jars). Even with quantity discount (gee gosh wow - a whopping 10%!), it was far pricer to access local apiary honey. There were more flavor alternatives, as the apieries traded product among themselves; but prices remained excessive, across the board. And that doesn't even factor in the time-consuming, long drives (in one case, over 100 mi., round trip) to access such apieries. I've been buying the Stakich product for now near a year - and remain quite pleased. HIGHLY recommended!!5THE Raw Honey for Me - DailyI been using this Stakich Raw Honey for several months, taking about a tablespoon daily in my morning coffee. I decided to try honey as an alternative to sugar/palm sugar/artificial sweeteners, starting with super market honeys, before researching raw honey. In trying several different raw honeys, as the taste difference took some getting used to, I came across the Stakich Raw Honey on Amazon. Starting with 1 lb. jars, the pricing was similar or better than the others I tried - and I really enjoyed the taste, consistency & quality of this Stakich honey.Having used up four 5 lb. jars, I am now on my fifth. The price of the 5 lb jar is quite good and the quality is excellent!5In my top 5 choices!I was totally amazed at how great this honey is. It is in my top 5 favorite Honey choices! The color is more of a golden yellow tone and the texture is fine granulation with more of a liquid state. You can pour this honey but I would recommend taking it out with a spoon. It will spread very easily over toast. The flavor is really sweet so if you wanted to use this in lets say tea, it would be great for that. It does have a sweeter taste than the other Honey's in my top 5. I would definitely repurchase and gift this honey!5They offer great products at fair pricesI began purchasing Stakich honey a few months ago after reading up on raw honey. My purchase was based on Amazon reviews of their product and internet search about raw honey, heating and pasteurization. Long story short, the brand I was purchasing was heating out many of the benefits I was buying their product for. I have bought this Stakich product twice as well as their Buckwheat honey (all unheated). They offer great products at fair prices. There were slight differences in both taste and color between my purchases of this raw honey. This is not a criticism: as this is a natural product, I'd be suspicious if it was exactly the same each time. Different plants flower throughout the year so I would assume a variation in the resulting honey. While there were slight differences, I have not received a product yet from Stakich that I wasn't extremely happy with. I will continue to purchase both this and their Buckwheat honey.5My favorite honey! My god, this stuff is amazing. My fiance and I use alot of honey when we cook and meal prep. I also substitute honey for sugar when baking, so we needed bulk. I was a little hesitant getting 5lbs of a new kind of honey, but it was worth it. We've gotten raw honey before, but nothing like this. The texture is a little gainer than I expected, but I've learned to like it. The taste is delicious! This has got to be the best honey I've ever had. I will definitely purchase more in the future. If you're having doubts, stop it and just click buy. This stuff is worth it.5I have doubts that this is actually raw honeyHeated or adulterated honey masquerading as raw unfiltered 100% honey is a known issue. I can't be 100% sure of course, but I suspect that this product isn't what it claims to be.I have to say, I don't eat the honey I buy. I don't eat sugar of any kind, so it's possible that the taste of this is fine & for people who don't really care that much what they're getting, they might be satisfied with this product.I use raw honey & mix it with baking soda for a face & body scrub. I've been doing this for years & I know how raw honey interacts with the baking soda. I know very well how it should mix, how it should feel, and how it should work. This interacts in ways not at all consistent with any experience I've had before. At the very least, it has to have been heated. The texture is too smooth, too close to a creamy liquid rather than true solid for it not to have been. It also soaks up far more of the baking soda than it should, dissolving it in a way that never happens - leaving no scrubbing effect at all. It's too creamy. Raw honey does Not do that.Raw honey, and this is the reason I use it, has moisturizing & antibacterial properties. When I started using it in my 30s in place of soap & acne washes & acne creams, my adult acne cleared up quickly & entirely. Using this product in the same way I have various other raw honeys over the years, my acne is back for the first time in 15years. Which again, strongly suggests that this has either been heated or had other sugars added to it. I have no way of knowing which of those things is true, but I am quite sure this product is Not what it claims to be. Nor was it just one bad jar. I tried two over a period of months thinking maybe I'd just gotten a bad batch, or one that had been left in an overheated warehouse too long. I had the same result with both.Again, if all you're looking for a sweet treat, this might be what you want. If you need or demand a real raw honey, look elsewhere.2It says its Kocher. My husband & I are always looking for quality honey products. We compare price, taste, location & production practices.Stakich is a better honey, but my last two orders have been inconsistent in quality, from all my previous orders. I was unable to reach Stakich through Amazon, to bring this to attention. Amazon refunded me, and I threw the honey away. There was a chemical odor and the flavor was very bad. I reordered again, and that container came as I was accustomed. It was thick, light in color, and tasted great. I recently ordered again, but the honey looked like the bad honey, darker in color, runny, and we were worried it would also be bad. We tasted it, and the flavor is different, but is fine. I order Kosher honey, trusting it means a high quality standard is placed on the processing.NONE of my previous containers were inconsistent in color, flavor or texture. Therefore, I felt confident nothing was added, except honey. I've heard of a 'certain' country's unethical processing practices. How high fructose is being added to honey to stretch it, and this is why I try to buy US honey. I realize as thousands of barrels of honey come from hundreds of places around the country, filling A LOT of jars! There is bound to lesser quality honey being mixed with higher quality honey, based on origin and sources the Bees get pollen from. I also recognize America's demand for honey, far exceeds the obvious supply, due to fewer bees. Still, it would be of great value if identification of the sources or state and plants of origin, be added to the label.I want to be given a choice of knowing WHERE, and what types of plants the bees used to produce the honey. I am willing to pay for that quality, so that I KNOW a product is coming from someplace which isn't adding something to the honey.Thank you for asking and giving me the opportunity to share my thoughts of your product.4and I'm extremely happy with both the consistency and qualityI've bought two kinds of Stakich Raw Honey products, and I'm extremely happy with both the consistency and quality. The first Stakich honey I bought was Buckwheat Honey. Never tried it before; the flavor is deep, rich and warm, but in my opinion a teeny bit less "sweet" than regular honey. But over all, I really liked it!My most recent purchase was this (regular) Raw Honey; one 5-lb jar for me and one for my brother-in-law & sister-in-law.I've been drinking a raw honey and Ceylon cinnamon "tonic" -- every single day-- for the last 4 months, and it has done wonders for relieving my arthritis pain, stiffness and inflammation. Now I take no other pain medications, not even Tylenol, for my knees or hands any longer! THAT is something, believe me!I'm very happy with this product and plan on buying it every couple of months!August, 2016 UPDATE: I've been buying Stakich raw honey for about 18 months or more now, and in that time I've tried two other brands of honey. I was never as happy with those other brands as I am with Stakich. Consistently pure, tasty and good quality! No other brand for me.5The Best honey I have tried so far!I am on a mission to find the best honey on amazon. I have tried several raw honey's here on amazon and I have to say so far (as of April 2017), this particular honey (Stakich Raw Honey) is the best. Keep in mind I'm not affiliated with the company nor am I beekeeper just an amazon consumer who loves raw honey. The taste of this honey is very similar but better than the expensive "Really Raw Honey" so instead of spending $65 on that brand, I'd recommend you get this honey for half the price!Below is a quick review of the honeys I have tried. My rating criteria is taste, texture and smell and 1 as being worst and 10 being the best. As always Your Mileage May Vary!1. Stakich Raw Honey (Favorite so far) Taste = 9Texture = 10Smell = 102. Oneroot Canadian Raw Wildflower HoneyTaste = 9Texture = 9Smell = 93. Eco Bees Raw HoneyTaste = 9Texture = 8Smell = 94. Really Raw Honey (most expensive)Taste = 8Texture = 10Smell = 85. White Gold Raw HoneyTaste = 7Texture = 6Smell = 66. Honest Raw HoneyTaste = 7Texture = 4 (Runny)Smell = 66. Amish Extremely Raw ACACIA HoneyTaste = 6Texture = 5Smell = 55Honey is good, containers leaked, honey missingI bought this honey because the brand I like has raised its price. I do like the flavor of this honey, but wish it was more of a paste (maybe they offer some I didn't see). What really bothers me is the container. Perhaps a foil seal would contain the honey better. Or a glass jar would be good as well. When I received the package honey had leaked out. The container wasn't damaged and there wasn't much honey that spilled so I was not bothered until I opened the container and found a significant amount of honey missing.I've never had this sort of situation with any honey I've ordered before. Please consider changing your containers.3
