It's a fine, sturdy pick with a safety feature to hide ...It's a fine, sturdy pick with a safety feature to hide the sharp points when not in use. My only complaint is that it takes two hands to work it when you want to discard your trash, so if you are carrying a trash bag in one hand you need to put it down/open it up to discard your pickings. Would be a lot better if there was some sort of one-handed quick release (that worked). 3How do you rate something like this? It does what I wantedHow do you rate something like this? The prongs on the end can be safely protected for storage. 5I feel like I work for the Parks Department!!!!This is a GREAT tool for cleaning up your yard without bending over for every leaf or piece of trash. You can pick up cans, paper plates, leaves or other debris, and just drop them off in the trash-bin without ever touching anything gross!!! 5Trash PicI bought this trash pic to pick up leaves as much as trash. I have two small Dachshunds and those straggling leaves makes it hard to locate where they did their poop...so I try and pick up those straggler leaves with this Trash Pic.I have the Leaf Vacuum, but when their are just a few leaves on the lawn, it's easier to grab this pic than to crack up a gas mower...more "green" too...no carbons. Before ordering this, I thought the bending over would be good form of exercise for the abs...until my back got to feeling bad...I'll be 65 in a couple months, so this also helps do the work, when you're body isn't feeling up to bending over.I think this could be used when out on a trail too...either with the pic retracted or extended. Might even be able defend yourself...against a snake....just a thought.I do like the pic...I think it's great for picking up those pieces of trash that kids seems to drop as they get of the bus or after the Trash guy picks up...and some piece of whatever blows out as they are tipping that garbage can into the truck...who wants to touch some piece of garbage...that has been next to who knows what....not me...this eliminates that problem and can be used for other things as well.Would recommend to a friend. 5Clean yardThis tool is amazing for picking up magnolia leaves in the yard. I have two trees and they shed all the time. Love that it is retractable so it is safe to store when not in use! 5Smelly handle but handyThe only reason I give this 4 instead of 5 stars is that the rubber handle emits a strong odor. I put it outside for several weeks and it disappeared. The TrashStik is made in China and I think that the handle is made of recycled rubber. The tool itself is very handy - we use it to clean up trash along the road by our farm. It is long enough to get over ditches and it certainly cuts down on the risk of getting poison ivy! As most containers are plastic, it is very easy to penetrate them with the sharp pins at the end of the stick. 4Excellent product. My only complaint is that after lots ...Excellent product. My only complaint is that after lots of stabbing at trash, the top of the rubber sleeve handle broke off leaving a bit of exposed metal at the top of the stick. The result is that I have to wear a glove to grasp the stick from the top if I want to avoid injury to my hand. That said, I'd buy it again. 4
