COUNT your bags! <100 count on delivery and weak taste!COUNT your bags! Ordered in 2014 and was short by 20+ bags of the 100 advertised. Amazon was quick to refund and I thought it was an honest mistake. First batch of tea was decent but noticeably weaker than item when bought in small package at store. Some of the outer bags were mis-glued, but tea bags held up. So tried again in Nov. 2017 since it's expensive elsewhere, again was shorted some bags, again received refund though Amazon (but nothing for the hassle). Upon review, not getting a full 100 count is not an uncommon complaint (look at the most critical reviews). I also agree with others who are suspicions about "expired" or old tea or maybe factory rejects (my guess is Numi has decent quality control and these were pulled for some reason) based on labeling and more importantly taste. I know that tea can be kept for many years, but my guess is this tea isn't stored properly or was otherwise a "mistake" and ends up only tasting ok, but not the Numi Pu-erh you expected.1Benefits Digestion and is Convenient!This is a good brand of organic Pu-erh tea that we have found very convenient for travel when we don't want to bring along our loose leaf due to mess. Pu-erh is an ancient, fermented tea that we have been using for a number of years because of its' health benefits. It is an amazing digestive aid and we would not travel without it because of this wonderful feature. We have found that if we overindulge or eat foods that are richer than we are used to, if we make ourselves a cup of this pu-erh the digestive issues magically disappear! Supposedly it also helps with weight management and energy but we primarily use it for digestion.This tea is smooth and a bit earthy with a light, pleasant scent and taste. It is not as robust as we are used to in a pu-errh and thus the four star rating. We don't drink pu-errh tea for its' flavor, but enjoy the effects it has on our bodies. If you are only used to a commercial black tea, the flavor of pu-errh may take some getting used to, but the benefits are well worth it. It does have caffeine, but we find it to be less than many other brands.We love the fact that this brand is organic and fair trade as well. There are sixteen, biodegradable bags of tea per box.4Not a coffee replacement - BETTER than coffee!Recently I read a book called The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane by Lisa See. It was all about this Pu-erh tea that was so fantastic and elusive. Then the other day I was surprised to see a box of it at my local health food store and bought it. How to say it? This is the most fabulous tea I have ever tried and that is saying a lot! My husband and I shop regularly at a Chinese herbal shop that sells fantastic teas and we must have over a hundred in our personal collection that we drink regularly. This is the darkest, richest tea I know of, with the most delicious and satisfying flavor! Not a trace of bite in this tea. I lost my desire for coffee a couple of years ago and this tea is so much better than coffee - never comes back on me - I drink it first thing in the morning and last thing at night. I sometimes add cream to it for a special treat! Wonderful!5Bold and Smooth weight loss tea. It works for me..I was looking for a suitable alternative to coffee to add to my morning regimen. As I researched some videos I came across this amazing tea called pu-erh. I learned that it's a slightly fermented tea from China that is said to have fat burning qualities. The first box that I had I completely went through that I bought from my local organic market. I actually went back there but they were fresh out so I went to my old trusted website Amazon. I've been taking it for about three months now and I actually see results in my waistline. The taste of it is bold, and has a slightly sweet aftertaste. It's like no tea that I've ever tried in now I just have to have it. I do sometimes grab a cup of coffee but not as often because I'm used to having my tea instead. I learned that China has prize this tea for thousands of years as a type of healing tea. I definitely recommend that you add it to your routine.4BEST tea for fat loss!!!! Quite tasty, too!This is the BEST TEA I have ever tasted! I do not add anything to it at all after seeping. At first, I did expect it to taste more like chocolate, but after a month or so of drinking this Numi flavor, I really look forward to "indulging" in a freshly seeped cup nightly. I have also tried the Numi Ginger tea, and I enjoy the crisp taste of that flavor, too. The reason I chose to drink pu-erh is for the fat loss benefits. I have to admit that it really does help decrease fat loss in your body! Puerh has been a part of my daily regiment throughout my recent weight loss journey and has been a major contributor in my inches decreasing. I HIGHLY recommend drinking Puerh for slimming down, and definitely recommend the Numi Pu-erh tea! The chocolate flavor is my favorite, but the ginger is right up there with it. :) ******NOTE: Puerh WILL make you hungry after around an hour of drinking it. It clears out the digested fat from your stomach, which is why it is good to drink it after a meal (around 35 minutes to an hour after eating). It will also cause you to release fluid; so, expect to make a few trips out of the room, if you know what I mean. The health benefits are totally worth it, though.5i found this tea to be my absolute favorite chocolate teaI'm so shocked at all the mixed/negative reviews, i found this tea to be my absolute favorite chocolate tea, i think the problem people are having is they're having this tea plain, with just the tea bag. . . granted a good tea should only require just the tea, but the thing people seek when their brains hear "chocolate," is sweet!i'd give it a 5/5 however, the lack of Pu erh in this tea is criminal! if you look at how much tea is in the bag, ( probably a few grams? ) and then read the ingredients, you'll see it also has rooibos tea, as well as all the chocolate nibbles . . . meaning you're getting less than a half gram ( probably less of Pu erh ) and for the price, you'd be better buying real bulk Pu erh and adding it to a chocolate tea, that's not this brandso what i do is i add buckwheat honey to it, and let me tell you, holy CRAP - it's AMAZING. . . the chocolate flavor actually taste like chocolate but more of a truffle-kind-of-chocolate, a very rich, broad spectrum taste. . . plus the undertones of rooibos make it great, as well as the hint of vanilla. . . the ingredients list orange peel, but you don't taste the orange but you do "feel," the citrus of it, like smelling an orange peel, it's super super subtle. .but i love this Tea,i suggest using it as a special time tea, adding honey, milk, almond milk, cream or even whip cream. ..4Close to pu-erh brick. Excellent tea.Best bagged pu-erh out there. I've tried many pu-erhs and this comes closest in color, flavor and scent to imported single origin 'grind it off a compressed tea leaf brick' pu-erh. Comes close, but not exact, although longer steeping helps and using two bags per cup really helps. Nice translucent dusty dark rose color. I like the unique earthy flavor, in a way similar to my enjoyment of the sweet smokey flavor of lapsang suchong. Pu-erh preparation results in a brewed scent that remind me of lightly fermented long grasses, sort of like in a horse feed trough in the barn I frequented in my formative years. A really enjoyable experience. Going to have a cup now in fact.5Like flavorful hot chocolate but without the sugar & caloriesThis is hands down my favorite tea. I am an avid tea junky but I generally shy away from pu'erh because I find it has a fishy flavor with my particular palate. I am SO glad I ended up giving this one a chance. It's incredibly smooth, creamy, and chocolatey (I'm making it a word! ;) ) with slight hints of the cinnamon, nutmeg, and cardamom, and a touch of citrusy orange peel. It tastes like Christmas! It's as if I made a rich hot cocoa and added just a touch of chai to it except it's not spicy or overpowering like chai can be. The box recommends steeping for 4-5 minutes for full flavor but I often let it go for closer to ten minutes or even just leave the bag in while I drink it because it can be a little weak if you use too much water or don't steep long enough. I don't sweeten mine at all because for me just a few tsps of half'n'half or vanilla coconut milk makes it perfectly sweet. I'm sure it would be incredible with a dab of honey too though. I also love that Numi teas are organic and fair trade so I know I'm doing a good thing for my body, the environment, and the tea growers every time I drink a cup. Which I'm doing right now as I write this....yummm!5Didn't like the flavorI like how Numi brand resenting their products, that it comes from all over the world and how sustainable they are, that's why I give 3 stars. But this particular tea, Emperor's Pu-erh, certainly not on my reorder list. Maybe it's just me, or maybe taste varies by batches, but what is supposed to be "mild and earthy" flavor, tasted to me like fermented fish. Definitely strong fermentation notes, and strange aftertaste that I can't describe better than fish-like, like if someone would put a drop of fish oil in my cup.3Best Pu-Erh You Can Find in a BagOK, let me preface this with the disclaimer that I am a hardcore pu-erh zealot. I have a pretty sizable private collection and tend to hold onto tea cakes for several years before even touching them. Over the years, I have come to strongly prefer shu pu-erh (ripe) over shen (raw), and routinely spend well over $100 for a decent 357 gram cake. So, I don't mind paying for quality and I have pretty high standards and like a particular sort of pu-erh: a bit earthy and woody, but not overpowering, rich malt, and a little sweet - a layered and mellow flavor experience.I NEVER drink tea out of a bag. It is just almost always disappointing at best, and outright undrinkable, usually. Recently, I was traveling and didn't bring pu-erh with me (as I usually do). Came across this in the store and figured I would give it a try, lacking any other real options. I was blown away! Let me say that this won't pass as a 15-year old high-end full-leaf ripe pu-erh. But, if you need the convenience of a tea bag, this gets you about 90% of the way there, in terms of flavor. It has become my new daily drink at work, where it isn't convenient to deal with a pu-erh cake.This wouldn't disappoint any aficionado of ripe pu-erh for a daily drink.5
