Customer Reviews

Since going Add-On they ALWAYS send you cheaper original, not the premium version.Premium = liquid sauce, little bits of meat, tasty.Original (cheaper) = powder sauce, tastes like vomit.Don't know how many cases I've had to send back at this point. Giving up. Looks like many others are having same problem.1NOT what they used to be!I'm so disappointed in what has become of these noodles. To all you long time Nissin premium chow mein lovers out there, your eyes and taste buds are not deceiving you. In the last year or two, Nissin appears to have gone through at least two iterations of cheapening this product. First, the nice thick, beefy noodles they used to use were replaced by these super thin ones. Next, they stopped puting the meat pieces in and added more vegetable instead. The packaging has changed correspondingly, and currently no longer claims "premium" noodles or shows the meat pieces (the Amazon product picture is no longer accurate). The ingredients list also differs from an older package I had, and it doesn't seem to taste as good either.BTW, the stock numbers are the same (7066208723), so I didn't just get a different product--this is what they are replacing their once excellent product with.If you loved the "premium" noodles from a couple years ago, you will be terribly disappointed in this product today.1These are Seriously DELICIOUS Noodles!Having previously tried Maruchan Instant Lunch Ramen noodles, I wasn't quite sure what to expect. I followed the cooking instructions and after removing the seasoning packet, filled the container with water to the indicated line. After microwaving the noodles for five minutes, I waited for one minute prior to mixing in the seasoning. Pictured above left are the noodles. They were large, tender, and DELICIOUS! I was impressed to see bits of vegetables mixed in.The next time I tried this, I added in some beef that I stir fried with onions, carrots, and Chinese cabbage. After mixing in the stir fried beef with vegetables, I got the dish pictured top right. It was AWESOME! This tasted just like a savory lo mein dish. It's much much better than the Maruchan Instant Lunch Ramen noodles which tasted like instant noodles. This savory dish tasted like the noodles from a Chinese restaurant.I would recommend only eating these noodles freshly made. After the initial success of adding in the stir fry, I made a big batch that used 3 containers of pasta. I wanted leftovers to take to work for lunch. Sadly the leftovers were not quite as good as the fresh made batch because they were slightly mushy when I ate them the next day.5HOW TO: PERFECTLY COOK CHOW MEIN STEP BY STEP 1-6I've mastered cooking these noodles to perfection. Here's how you can too! 1# Open the box peel back to the lid to line. #2 once open lift the noodles and slide all the meat and dried veggies to the unopened side under the noodles. This saves the contents from boiling out. #3 fill water to level exactly on flat surface. #4 Gently close the peeled open lid DO not fold the lid shut you want the noodles to steam cook with barely, if any water left in the bowl. refer to my photo. #5 microwave for 4 minutes. #6 pour in oil packet take a fork and rapidly spin the contents in the bowl it will perfectly mix within seconds. Water level is important you need to be exact or you'll be left with ramen noodle soup and we don't want that we want steamed noodles in a dlish oily sause. Please like this if it helped you because I want you feeling fancy with these noodles cooked right we ain t got time for them depressing ramen noodles. When you eat these noodles you know you've finally found an exit out of the depressing matrix of ramen noodle soup that always resembles the flavor of cardboard with a hint of failure and depression sprinkled on top; Those days are no more my friend. welcome to perfectly cooked Dlish Chow mein!!!!! PRO TIP: some chowmein come with dry packets look at the box carefully the ones marked premium contain the oil packet which is the one you want. Addionally people complain that the oil packets contain solids; after inspection with microscope the oil packets contain flavor crystals which descintigrate in warm water these are the solids you feel in the oil packets. if you open the packet you will see and feel brown crystal squares these are for flavoring and normal.5Do your tastebuds a favor and buy these. Head to toe above any other style. These are sooo good. Better than Raman and I can't stand cup o noodle. I got these for me but my adult daughter also got into them. Every once in a while I put a little too much water in the container and it's a bit watered down, but give it a little more time to cool down and you would never know it. The noodles just absorbs the water. I do say that you want to add the season package pretty close to when you take the container out of the microwave. And at least start with mixing the season with the noodles. It makes it easier for the full mixing and flavor of the overall meal. Don't think you're going to get a great big Chinese order portion of the serving. These are not the full size of a package of Raman. The Raman container says it's 2 portions. These are a single serving size. These taste tons better than just the Raman noodles. The flavor package is not a powder but a liquid. I know I will order these over and over. They are super good and hard to eat just 1. The temptation to make a couple of them to eat is hard for me, but I've learned to take my time and let the food sit in my stomach a while and I'm back in control of my tastebuds. I've only had this flavor but am curious about the chicken flavor.5I hate admitting itI hate admitting it, but this ramen is my greatest guilty pleasure. I really like spicy stuff so I also add sriracha. Don't buy these from Amazon though - Wal Mart and Family Dollar sell them for about .80 each.5switching to these was like going to a gourmet meal in flavor and qualityI was old school, doing my little plastic encased bricks of Ramen noodles since I was a child, switching to these was like going to a gourmet meal in flavor and quality. Very impressive, I love how they come in their own container and that beautiful sweet teriyaki sauce is sublime. I am buying these under $10 dollars a case and love them at work, I enjoy two packs at work - I space them out every 4 hours since I work 12 hour shifts. All the other guys go out and buy $20 pizzas and I spent less than $2.00 and I am full as they are, not to mention these smell AMAZING when you heat them up in the microwave!I am buying a case at a time on Amazon for $9 something.....try them once if this applies to you!5Not so good anymoreI may have written a review on this product way back when, but I feel I should reflect on the current packages. My 1st several purchases of this chow mein were great and I probably gave a 5 star review. It was $9.99/12 at that time but when I was ready to buy another batch the lowest price was $12.99. I didn't buy it until recently (Oct) when the price had gone down to the original $9.99. Something changed for the worst. The liquid seasoning is not the same as it was. The flavor is very thin and not tasty at all. I don't think I'll be buying it again. Such a bummer because I could whip up a filling lunch or satisfy a late nignt hunger quickly and easily and enjoy it, but not anymore. If the makers will change the seasonings back to the previous recipe I'll be the 1st to glve another 5 stars.3Delicious, but high sodium and fatVery tasty microwave noodles! I ordered two cases to donate for free lunch at school. My son tried one and loved them. I tasted some of his and decided if I ever ate them, I would definitely add more vegetables. The flavor was great and savory, and did not taste like a bullion cube was dropped in there. The sodium is extremely high, though, and fat is up there, too, compared with the protein. When eaten on the go, this would realistically be one meal, not the two servings called for on the package, so 1 star was docked for the nutritional issues. But I would buy again!------------------Edit 4/8/18- Just repurchased, because the school requested them. They assured me they only offer these to the larger, athletic students who don't have a lunch, along with the fruit cups, veggie trays and no extra salty snacks, so I'm good with that. It's a small Charter school with no cafeteria or food service license, so we do what we can for kids without lunches. I miss the old days when moms were allowed to make sandwiches,etc... but now everything has to be pre-packaged, and it's all full of salt and sugar and chemicals!4Ramen with a Chow Mein twistThat s basically what this is. They re ramen noodles with a sauce packet for flavor. Overall it tastes good and by itself I would say it s a 3 star meal. If you add your own stuff to it like vegetables or meat you can turn it into a 4 star meal. There s a small pile of dehydrated, shredded vegetables (looks like onions and carrots) underneath the block of noodles. The sauce tastes good, it s a syrup mixed with vegetable oil and tastes like typical Chinese sweet and salty food with a slight tendency towards sweet. It tastes kind of like a mix of soy sauce and maple syrup and it smells like maple syrup after it s been heated up. I make it by putting some frozen vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower and carrots) on top the noodle block, fill it with water a little below the fill line, push the paper cover down to the top of the plastic container and heat it (on high) for 5 1/2 to 6 mins. Let it sit for a minute, pour the sauce over it and stir it up. The instructions say to fill it (with water) to the fill line, that makes it soupy so I fill it to about 1/16 below the fill line or a bit lower and that makes it about right. I made one of these Chow Mein and mixed it with some leftover Panda food from a couple of days earlier and it made a huge meal. Also, it s cheap (at the time I m writing this) and it s made in China. So I ll give it 3 stars for an as is meal but it can be improved by adding your own stuff to it.3
