I LOVE this packI LOVE this pack. It works so well for both heat and ice, and looks simple, but was so thoughtfully made. This is so much better than gel pack versions, or even the ones with straps, because the weight of the pack holds it in place while the filling molds to the area you are treating. The fabric on the outside is very comfortable (one side is fleece, the other cotton fabric) and not only provides slight (necessary) barrier for the heat/ice, but creates friction on your clothing so it helps stay in place (on top of t-shirt, pants, etc), whereas gel pack would slide right off. Cools very quickly in the freezer and heats up in the microwave in 2 minutes. Simple old school ice/heat pack that works extremely well! 5Amazing but shortThe quality of this hearing pad is amazing! It heats perfect in 1.5 mins and I love the different fabrics for either side but it's so short that you can't comfortably keep this around your neck or back. Unfortunately I can't return it so I use it for when I'm laying down but I did buy their other heating pad (19.99) which is longer and has handles so I'm hoping that works better! 3I absolutely love it! I have been using it for a ...I absolutely love it! I have been using it for a 2 weeks now and it keeps getting better and better! I had really bad lower back pain and also stress pain in my neck. This heat pack completely took care of them! I would highly recommend this! 5Something is rotten in ...It stinks! Literally. How disappointing. I heated it once for 90 seconds. The smell is something like heated rice kernels that are rotten. Even more than 24 hours later, it still smells bad. The smell is so offensive that I cannot use this product. It isn't returnable, so I guess I will just toss it. Nature Creation kindly offered to send me another one with rice and flax, saying that "The Flaxseed helps lessen the scent of rice", but I don't need another smelly hot pack. 1By far the best heating pad I have ever ownedBy far the best heating pad I have ever owned. The flexibility alone is a top point but then you add the ease of heating and applying around an injured area and it is a Win-Win! We purchased this in advance of our dog's orthopedic surgery and I am extremely happy with how we are able to fit this around her knee without causing any pain or discomfort. There is an easy "reheat" option but we haven't had to use it yet b/c it retains the heat for quite some time. Once she is healed this will be saved for ourselves should we find the need for it in the future. 5Pad's Filling is Burnt After Only Two MonthsI bought this for my husband as a Christmas gift because his old one was over 5 years old. The reviews on this one sounded good so I purchased it. He heats it up for two minutes at a time to help with back pain. However, after only two months of use the filling inside is entirely burned and smells like burnt popcorn. He heats it as recommended probably 1-3 times per day and it's already done. I cannot believe it only lasted two months. If you have someone who would use this very regularly be aware this item does not handle regular use well. 2Best Texture, Smell, and Service!I recently ordered three different heating pads off Amazon because it's very cold where I work and I wanted something to help keep me warm. Out of the three pads, this one is far and away my favorite! Not only did it smell better than the other two immediately upon opening and after heating, the soft fleece side makes all the difference in the world! It's so comfy against my skin. Other heating pads don't take this into account and have rougher surfaces on them. I have very sensitive skin and I'm so grateful for this facet of the design.The seller/manufacturer really did a wonderful job with the instructions and making sure you have all the info you could need about this heating pad. Much appreciated, as I'm a total heating pad newbie. It was far above and beyond what other the other heating pads offered -- even and especially the one packaged for retail sale!Honestly, couldn't be happier with the product and level of service. 5Perfect PadI received a homemade heating pad from a friend around 5 years ago, and it finally began to break down after years of use. When the burnt bits of rice actually started falling out, I knew I needed a new one, and so I began a year long search trying to find one that would replace it. I initally bought a pad off of etsy that was supposed to be rice with some essential oil that would smell good, but the smell turned rancid after a few weeks and I had to start my search all over again. Then I stumbled upon this heating pad and decided to take another chance - and boy was it a good choice!I LOVE this heating pad! It smells nice like cooked rice, and holds its heat for quite a long time. I like the two different materials a lot - the fleece side is super soft and less hot, while the cotton side holds extra heat for when I really need it. It is more "full" than pictured, so it's not quite as malleable as I would like, but that is really not too much of an issue. I typically heat it up for 1 minute and 30 seconds, and subsiquent heatings are only about 30-40 seconds. It comes in a sealed bag with instructions, so it's very easy to use! 5I still like it, but it doesn't wrap around my neck ...It's shorter and fatter than it shows in the picture. I still like it, but it doesn't wrap around my neck the way I was hoping it would and the way the picture makes it look like it would.One side is silky and feels dry, the other side is a textured material and feels moist.Works great on stomach and on achy knees, not as good with neck and shoulders. 3Very good once you learn how to use themI've given these heating pads (I bought two) twice-daily use for the past two months. Nature Creation put a lot of thought into these and the comprehensive instructions, which include lots of caveats and warnings, are well worth reading (more than once). They took a lot of getting used to since each component of the product contributes its own characteristics and external conditions like ambient temperature and what part of your body you use them on makes a lot of difference. It took me an embarrassingly long time to come to terms with their characteristics within my home on my affected bit of anatomy (a foot). But now that I think I know them pretty well I can praise the design and guidance. One of the best features is that one side of the pad is thinner cloth and the other side is thicker (flannel). The thinner cloth transmits more heat and the flannel provides less. You can start with the flannel and finish with the thinner cloth to stretch a heating session. I subtracted one star because I find them just a bit smaller than I wish they were, and I m a small person. 4
