We love the "blended" traditional form of Mexican vanillaFriends from Tahiti rave all the time about Tahitian vanilla. They've given us some and I'll admit, it was pretty good. Then we brought home Mexican "traditional" blended vanilla from a vacation to the Yucatan. We fell in love with it and started baking significantly more than we ever have in the past! We started looking exclusively for recipes that included vanilla, and the more the better. Since that first purchase we always came home from dive trips to Cozumel and the Yucatan with bottles of the stuff to use and give to family and friends. The vanilla flavor of the vanilla/vanillin blend is superb and oh-so-vanilla-satisfying in everything you bake.We haven't made it back to Mexico in three years or so and recently ran out of our previous stock of traditional blend. We used the higher alcohol Tahitian pure vanilla for baking recently but the flavor is noticeably different. With no Mexican trips on the schedule we thought we'd give Molina Mexican Vanilla Blend a try from Amazon. It arrived, we opened it, and it is absolutely the vanilla/vanillin blend we love. As I type we have a Ricotta Mascarpone vanilla custard baking in the oven and the aroma of vanilla filling the house is wonderful.I understand that many folks only use pure vanilla. That's great. But if "pure" isn't that important to you and you just want incredible vanilla flavor, give Molina Mexican Vanilla Blend a try.5Ingredients on bottle not same as shown on AmazonWhen I received this bottle of pure vanilla extract i noticed that the ingredients listed were different than what is shown on Amazon. There is not 2% pure vanilla extract listed. Matter of fact there is more alcohol and Propylene Glycol than pure vanilla extract. The label also says it contains artificial vanilla flavoring added, which also isn't listed on the Amazon site. Was going to return it, but the seller does not take returns. Not sure if this was a mistake or a bait and switch. Buyer beware....2Not pure vanilla extract--tastes like waterThis stuff is digusting. The people that gave it 5 stars must have no taste buds. I really like vanilla extract (and I'll take a sip as I use it in my recipes). So I opened the bottle immediately upon receiving it and took a sip. It's water! And then there's something spicy(?!). I checked the ingredients and then looked here. It's only 2% vanilla. The label says "made with the finest pure vanilla" but what you're buying isn't the finest pure vanilla.I cannot use this in my recipes. It tastes way too bad. This is scam. It's just better. So I decided to check Amazon to see if I could get a good quality Mexican Vanilla. I did really poor research on this; but, in my opinion, I believe this company preys on that and hopes that people do not know the difference between pure vanilla and this fake vanilla.Summary: I purchased this as part of a subscribe and save item because I needed vanilla, and I needed one more item to achieve max discount. I obviously stopped reading the title of the product at 'Mexican Vanilla', and then just ignored all the reviews and product description. So, my fault for that. The company clearly states all of the required information, and I should have been able to figure out that this stuff is fake crap. So I am more mad at myself then I am at the company.Despite that, I am an educated dude who has a relatively high opinion of his intelligence. And now I am also writing in both the first and the third person. I have truly devolved into insanity...sigh...anyway...point being, I feel like I was duped more than I made a bad purchase--but I am not going to penalize this company for duping me and give them a 1-star review. I am going to give them 2-stars because this product is disgusting. It's eff'ing bad. After a lengthy search for an equivalent substitute on Internet boutique shops throughout the usa and elsewhere, I arrived at this product via Amazon, and, based on reviews, decided it was worth a try. I am happy to say it delivers 100% both in depth and richness of flavor. The product description, contrary to what others say, clearly states that it is a blend. Personally this does not matter to me, as it is in no way a detriment to the flavor, but Is nice to know. Regardless, if you are looking for a vanilla product that is above average, affordable, and very flavorful, you cannot go wrong here!4NOT VANILLA! FAKE!!Don't buy this! They fooled me--it's a vanilla BLEND, not vanilla! I just spent almost $10 on something I will never use, because Amazon won't allow me to return this, even though it was never used. I guess I'll just toss it and buy some from a local Mexican grocery, where I know I can buy REAL VANILLA in this quantity for the same price or less. This product should NOT be allowed on Amazon without a BIG, BOLD disclaimer describing it for what it is: ARTIFICIAL VANILLA. It only has a small amount of vanilla extract...it's mostly water.1Great vanilla value...After my beloved Kirlland Vanilla skyrocketed to over $2 an ounce, I went on the search for a cheaper substitute, and was happy to find Molina's vanilla. It's not quite as strong as the Kirkland, but it does provide a pleasant vanilla flavor.4
