these are a good size for one person eating lightOkay..these are a good size for one person eating light, but the material leaves "edges" on the plate when ya use a knife on it. Cuts right into the plate like plastic, leaving permanent cuts and rising...piss poor.1Deep Plate for those with trouble feeding themselves.We recently moved our mom out of a sub-par Group Home for the elderly back to our home. Being blind I noted that they feed my mom on standard plastic plates with stainless steel attachment called a Plate Guard. She wants to feed herself which is good, however with this set up she would still get food on her.Just prior to moving her in I started researching plates for the handicap and came across this unit. Specs looked good, great reviews so I pulled the trigger and bought one. One of the greatest purchases I have made for my mom. Used in conjunction with the Plate guard she no longer spills food out of the plate. Plates are hard plastic and easily wash in the D/W with no problems.5Helps with vascular dementiaMy grams has vascular dementia so if she has a plate that has a busy pattern on it she gets too overwhelmed. We have seen an end to a nightly remark of oh I can t eat all that! That s way too much! . Thank you! Now she eats!5Great for those with minimum dexterityIt's a big small but the lip works great to help keep food on the plate. Husband had a stroke and he struggles with getting his food on his fork. These show scratches but it doesn't change the wonderful independence it brings.5Sturdy & works great!This plate is sturdy and great for anyone who has problems with their hands. The inner lip keeps food from falling off the edge of the plate, while eating. Instead, it pushes the food onto the spoon or fork. I bought it for a family member who is recovering from a stroke.
