It says it is from France and it is steamed distilled. I have bought a lot of oils from several brands here on Amazon and this is by far the best smelling and the best feeling. I have tried those ring test and feeling the oils test and have not been 100% about the results. this one passed both test and is now my new standard on testing in the future. I don't believe I will waste my time with other brands anymore. This is it for me. So very happy with what I got!
