I was expecting these to be individually wrapped pairs like I've been buying for yearsThis is a bulk product that may or may not be genuine Howard Leight earplugs. I was expecting these to be individually wrapped pairs like I've been buying for years. Instead, they all came loose in two ziplock bags. No branded labels. Probably some cheap generic. 1When I started using these. I got sores inside my ears.I have had these for a while now. When I first got them, I liked them. But after a few uses, I developed sores inside my ears. I was not sure what was causing these, so I have kept using them. I thought maybe something else was causing the sores. But after a few weeks. it has only gotten worse. The pain has become too much and I have stopped using these.I do not know if they are too big, or maybe its the die they use, or they are contaminated. (They are not individually packaged as the pic shows). I am going to stop using these and update my review in a week or two. If the sores go away, then I will know that it was these that caused it.*******Update******After not using these ear plugs for a few days and using others instead, the sores inside my ears have begun to heal and the pain went away. So if you decide to get these and have pain in your ears, or you develop sores, it might well be these ear plugs. 1Great Ear Plugs, Very Sound ProofI would give these a 4.5/5 if I could. They are great, really keep the noise out. I have a roommate who snores, and I sleep right through the night with these. However, I have slightly small ears, and these become painful after extended wear. The insides of my ears get raw from putting them in and taking them out and having them in for hours each night. However, since they are so good at blocking noise, I really can't complain too much, just know that if you have smaller ears, it might be good to occasionally take a break from these and use a smaller pair sometimes.Pros: generally comfy, easy to put in, VERY good at blocking sound, inexpensive, reusable (a few times)Cons: slightly too big for my earsNote: The earplugs at the following link are the same product, but they're $2 more expensive for some reason. 50 Pair Howard Leight MAX Ear Plugs 33 Decibels MAX-1 5Good earplugs, but buy the other listingThese are the same product as another one on Amazon, Howard Leight MAX-1 Foam Ear plugs Uncorded NRR33 (50 Pair). This product costs $2 more than the one I linked, for no apparent reason, I bought both and could find no difference between them. Very good earplugs though! 4Not individually wrapped as pictured.I purchased this particular item from among the myriad choices on amazon because the picture clearly shows them as individually wrapped. This was key, since I want to keep a few in my range bag for guests to use in the event they don't have hearing protection of their own. However, what I received was a bag of loose ear plugs, not individually wrapped pairs. 2NOT individually packaged as shown in product photos! This is a bulk single bag full of light orange ear plugs.I ordered these because I am familiar with the brand and they make excellent quality over the ear muffs for shooting. I needed a solution to keep pairs of disposables on me for work purposes. These show a photo that they are individually packaged pairs...they are in fact NOT individually packaged, but all 100 are thrown into the same bulk baggy. If these would have came as the ad photo illustrated I would be much happier. Also note, they are more of a dull orange color, not the bright red as shown. I may choose to return these. 2Good but not individually wrappedThe earplugs work pretty well. I decided to use earplugs for studying and this cuts out most noise that would distract me. I was hoping that these would be packaged in pairs (like the pictures shows) so I could just take a couple with me without much hassle but it's just a bunch in a plastic bag. I'm not even sure if there are 50 pairs. I do have concerns about them picking up dust and stuff since it's not sealed (once opened) and it seems difficult to take them with you unless you have a small package specifically for the earplugs.That being said, they do work well. They cut more noise than other earplugs I've tried although they weren't really high quality stuff. I'll likely buy these again when I run out but they'd be much more convenient if they were packaged better. 3Incredible QualityI am a super light sleeper, so I use these when I sleep at night. My cat has recently started Yowling at night. I would usually take a pare of these home from work but decided to get a large box for myself. These helped me sleep through the night and have been used during other sleepovers. I never woke up from small noises with these earplugs in.Since I am a light sleeper, a loud noise (knocking on a door, Cellphone Ring, alarm) was still able to wake me up. Maybe this was selective hearing, but it has helped me immensely. I love these earplugs and have used them almost every night for a year. 5best ones I've found, and long-lastingthese are soft, don't scratch the inside of your ears, expand and shape to fit your ear canals - not always perfectly at first, but I've learned how to finesse the fit. They don't block all noise, but they do a great job of taking the edge off irritating or even damaging noise - not like gunfire, but barking dogs, bouncing basketballs, power tools. I've been using these for maybe 20 years now - and I'm still using the 50 pairs I bought on Amazon 5 years ago. Because you can wash them! Sometimes they go through with the laundry by accident, sometimes I just wash them in the shower. Let them dry and they expand and soften. Could not ask for better. Put noise-canceling headphones over these and you will hear very little on the plane. They've saved my hearing and my sanity. 5the seal was amazingly good. Better than the effect of the ear muffs ...Bought a pack from tool deals. Shipment was very prompt, faster than expected. Came in a plastic bag. The size of the plugs are at the large side. However after managed into the ear, the seal was amazingly good. Better than the effect of the ear muffs having the same NRR. I read some reviews saying the quantity in the package might not be correct, so I counted one by one upon opening the package. The total number of the ear plugs was actually 90. So instead of 50 pairs, I received 45 pairs. For later customers who buy this can also count your own to see if every package has this issue. 4
