Customer Reviews

Pros: They work and fit true to size! Cons: They take forever to air dry!I am really pleased with this purchase! They seem to work really well for medium:light flow days. I'm not sure I would trust them with a heavy flow but will definitely use them as leak insurance! I wanted to review based on size. I'm approx 185 pounds. I generally buy warners no pinch/no muffin top panties is size large. I wear a 10 in old navy jeans and I fall between a Med and large in most leggings. I have an athletic build, narrow-ish hips and not too large of a booty. I purchased the brief style in size X-large as some reviewers stated they run small. I don't think they do! The extra large fit ok but I will likely reorder in a size large to wear with leggings. I felt like the extra large was a little big, particularly after hand washing/hang drying. Putting them in the dryer might help but I'm not sure if that would alter their effectiveness. You will also likely need at least 4 pairs for a period cycle (particularly if you shower twice daily) as they take quite a while to air dry due to the layers5So happy I found these!!Since folks expressed their interest, here is my review of the EvaWear Period Panty. For those who don't know what this is, it is a new type of panty that has a special absorbent fabric panel to pull in fluids when you are on your cycle (much like a pad of panty liner). You would wear this instead of tampons/moon cups/pads ect on your light days and as an added layer of protection on your heavy days. This will eventually help save on cost on feminine products as well as the landfill waste they produce.Look and feel: The EvaWear I found on Amazon only come in one color - black - which is fine by me - and three styles: Boy short, hipster, bikini, of brief. I bought the hipster version. They cost about $39 for a two pack which is more affordable that the almost $40 a pair for the Thinx brand panties. The fabric is soft and feels similar to a pair of leggings (slightly cotton, slightly spandex). They are in fact made from nylon, cotton and spandex. There is a panel that runs from the front waist band to the back waist band and that my friends is where the magic is. In this thin panels is nested the special super absorbent fabric that collect the fluid. It's breathable moisture-wicking, highly-absorbent, and hypoallergenic. It doesn't feel weird or uncomfortable and you don't even notice it when the underwear are on. I don't know how it works but it sure does!Performance: Now to be fair, I have been blessed with extremely easy cycles. I don't generally have extreme cramping, my cycle is precise (almost to the day), and my flow is only medium/heavy on the first 2 days of my cycle. These performed really well on my normal days. I didn't feel uncomfortable, my panties didn't feel wet or nasty all day long, and I had no leakage. On my heavier days (especially day 2 as that is always the worse) they still performed well but I decided I wanted to also have a tampon as it seemed a little...messy. They however never leaked, not once, so that was very impressive.Sizing: Now here is the bad part. They have limited sizing. I wear a US size 10/8 in women's pants (Waist 33", Hip 40") I bought the XL in these and they fit a tiny bit loose but not loose enough that I feel comfortable ordering a size smaller. The briefs do come in an XXL but that is the only larger option. Hopefully they will expand their size range in the future.Care: They say they are machine washable but I have read that many folks hand wash them just to keep them in really good condition and then dry on low heat so they keep their shape. We will see how long I keep up with hand washing underwear. Christ, I don't even separate darks from my lights in the laundry. All my white stuff ends up sort of grey ;DOver all: All in all I give these 5 stars. They do what they are meant to do. I really like them and will be buying full set. I think they will take some of the annoyance and cost out of my monthly cycle. If you have a heavy cycle and are prone to overflow I totally recommend these as an additional level of protection. Yes you will still need to use your products but your clothes will stay stain free and you wont need to wear a pad and a tampon/cup which is awesome. If you are like me and have only a few days of heavy/med flow, you can ditch the products on most of your days and pretend like you like one of those ladies in the 1980's tampon adds, frolicking though a field of daisies in a white dress because that is obviously what women want to during that time of the month ;)PS - no I did not receive this product at a discount or for free. I just really like it.5Perfect protection!I got the hipster 2 pack in XL. I wear a 9 in Hanes packaged underwear. I wear a 14-16 in all bottoms so I got the XL and they fit perfect. I have a round bottom and everything is contained. They should fit well formed to prevent leaks but not so tight they re uncomfortable. They are a smooth spandex material, not cotton. Very comfy and they look just like regular hipsters. I m wearing them right now with nothing else on my period and I feel dry even when I feel a flow pick up. I wear a size 2 Lunette which is supposed to hold 30ml and I change it about every 6-8 hours. I bought these for a backup for leaks or if I m unable to change when I m out. I decided to just bleed into these on their own to test their effectiveness. These hold up my heavy flow for about 4-6 hours and on my regular and light days I just wear these and change twice a day. They wash well. Rinse in cold water in your sink or tub, squeeze out excess then either hand wash or wash on warm or cold by themselves or with your colors. I wash mine with my towels. No bleach, I like to use a cup of hydrogen peroxide with regular laundry detergent to help avoid blood stains. I highly advise against fabric softener as it interferes with the wicking fabrics abilities so that s why I wash with towels because I am a downy fanatic. Use a dryer sheet instead! You can certainly use these and only these instead of pads or tampons, I do sometimes. If you flow heavy I d say change every 5 hours. If you flow light you ll probably only have to change twice a day. I d say get 4 pairs to last a cycle, maybe 6 if you flow very heavy. As a backup for other options, two is fine. There is no odor when you wear them, my pants didn t smell or anything. They work amazing, no leaks if you get the right size and KNOW your flow! They have complete front to back protection! They don t make any noise and they re about as thick as a pantyliner. I love them and I ve now competent elimanted pads from my life. It s perfect as an only option or as a backup for days you can t get your cup in or just need some extra support from leaks. I would rate the absorbency as the equivalent to one Always, orange heavy overnight pad FULLY used or a small 25ml menstrual cup. I washed the used panties with a white towel on cold and not a trace of red so it s safe to wash with your clothes! (I included a picture of the freshly machine wash undies with the white towel I washed them with) It s so amazing to just take off your panties and pull on some new ones, no wipes, no mess. I even smelled the outside after I took them off and there is no odor, so don t worry about others smelling you! It s your dirty little secret.55 stars. I own 5 pairs as "period panties" and i love themThese are a little pricey so i spent a few months working my way up to a "full set", but i use these as period panties and i love them. They are not thick or bulky. The crotch is reinforced with some kind of absorbent layer, but it is not heavy or anything remotely resembling a pad or diaper. I no longer wear tampons, (i always hated pads) and i just never quite got the hang of the cup, but i have a generally light flow, and these haven't failed me yet. When i only had 1 pair, i would handwash it before a shower and throw it in the dryer, then three i would alternate, but i now have 5 pairs and i honestly think it's fabulous. i haven't had any gross incidents or horrible smells, they absorb fantastically and wash easily. They probably wouldn't have quite done the trick that first year after a baby, but for a regular cycle, they work great for me. I totally recommend period panties.590% effective as menstrual cup backup, with some fabric issuesI've had these since February 2017, and would describe my flow as medium-heavy the first 2-3 days. I like wearing these as I'm expecting a period to start and then as a backup to menstrual cups/tampons. During the time I've used them, I have had a significant leak once, minor leaking a few times, and probably as many close calls. There are a couple of things I didn't like about them. First, the material was more fragile than I expected, with a run in the fabric at the hip appearing on one of them within 3 cycles of wearing: currently, it looks like there's an extra strap, since I haven't bothered to trim it. Second, the absorbent fabric faded within 2 uses, and currently looks rust-colored in the crotch area. I only ever hand-washed these using body wash in the shower (hang dry), so they've been treated as delicately as my other panties. These do get a lot of use because I only bought one pack to try and rotate them through the length of bleeding. It does surprise me that one of them has held up better than the other, which makes me think these have great potential. They are comfortable to wear unless there is absorption of blood at the trim, as it hardens the lace. I usually wear an XS in underwear and the Small Hipster fits perfectly. I have not detected noises while wearing, but I don't normally wear skirts/dresses during that time of the month. As a fun side note, my husband has bled on the sheets from various scrapes since I got these, but I have not even had leaks onto PJ's overnight.4These are about half the price of Thinx and work great. I wore just these during my entire last ...I have been wanting to buy Thinx for a while, but haven't because of the price. These are about half the price of Thinx and work great.I wore just these during my entire last period with no problems.I do not have a super heavy period but I would say it is average.I will definitely be buying more of these panties.I bought the Small Hipster.5The underwear was fine to use during my light daysI normally wear a small in underwear, but I read other reviews and ordered a medium. I agree, order a size up! The underwear was fine to use during my light days. I'm a heavy bleeder so I wasn't expecting a miracle. The lace on the sides of the crotch area is so annoying. It rubbed against the inside of my legs and I could feel it even when I was just sitting down. Why is there lace there??Also, I hand washed the underwear with Woolite like I do my Thinx. Plain as day, I could see red on the crotch area of both of the black panties. So I put a little stain treatment on them and washed them in the washing machine. Red is still there. Yeah, not quite sure what's going on with that... Luckily the panties are black and so I will still most likely use them on light days but it sucks that they were discolored after the first use.3Wonderful UndiesThese are great. They're as good as the Thinx brand. I have several pairs of the Thinx undies and these are just as good and the price point is wonderful. The sizing is a bit small; I normally wear an XS in Thinx but purchased these in a medium & they fit perfectly. These will keep you a little warmer than the Thinx undies in my opinion but it's not a big deal to me.4Saved my bedsheets!! I had been after a good pair of "Period Panties" over the last year or so. I purchased several off name or no name brands in which even their 4XL seemed more like a USA size 0. I couldn't even get them over my thighs. I also purchase a big brand name and a couple that were advertised as "period panties" but were actually just period "themed" panties :(First of all, I did mark this as "Fit as expected". I normally order things in XL (USA) but took a chance on the largest size that was offered at the time of my order, which was a large. For the most part, I'd have to say that they fit fine since I have flat hips. The waist fit comfortably as did the leg holes, but if I bend over one too many times, the back side will start to slide down and I would eventually feel like my crack was exposed or that I needed to pull it up. Sometimes, even my regular panties and pants do this so I didn't think anything of it.I wear a size 14-16 pants. 14 is too small and 16 is too large. The large Anigan "Hipster" panties still fit and worked fine, but an XLarge would be more comfortable for me.I really think it depends on your body shape as to how these will fit you. If you have a larger booty or nice full hips, unlike me, then you might want to order a size up. I see that they will have an XLarge in April (2017). I'll definitely be back for a set of those!Since Thinx are the big brand name these days, I will compare them to the single "Hiphugger" style that I have. They seem to be made of the same materials:Body - Nylon and Spandex (or Elastane. According to Google they're the same thing but the word "Spandex" is more commonly used only in USA)Middle - PUL, Cotton and Spandex (Elastane)Inner - Cotton and Spandex (Elastane)The outside of my Thinx panties are silky, while the outside of my Anigan panties are like tights (leggings) fabric. The Anigan panties stretch better in the hip areas. PUL fabric itself is not a very stretchy fabric. The areas that are lined for absorbency and coverage do not stretch as much as the areas that are NOT lined.I personally find the hip areas more breathable on the Anigan panties and they seem to dry faster (air dry). The absorbency/coverage on the Anigan panties are completely to the waist band front AND back. It also flares out a bit to cover a larger section on the bum.My Thinx panties only covers the crotch area. Again, I only have the single pair so I'm not sure how the coverage is on their other styles. If you're a front or back bleeder, this doesn't "catch em' all".I poured 15ml (1/2 oz.) water on them (I know water will act different than blood) to see if liquid would get absorbed quickly or sit on the fabric. See video if you're interested.I haven't used the Anigan panties on their own yet. I've only used them as back up and I'm glad that I did because my menstrual cup leaked this week :( A few times. I only had the Anigan panties on for one of those times, but I'm glad I did because I would have had to strip my bedding.Overall, I think these are a good buy. If you have a light to moderate flow, you could probably use these without any problems. I'll probably use them for stress incontinence issues when they offer an xlarge size. For now, the large will do. I WISH that I had some of these when I was in school. I've suggested them to my sister for her young daughters!5Comparable to Thinx!I am what you would call a "free bleeder" since I started taking hormonal birth control, I don't really have a cycle but can have unpredictable (pretty predictable now) break through bleeding every few months, usually its just heavy spotting to moderate "flow" which makes me feel like wearing one of my reusable cloth menstrual pads is a waist because I dont really "flow" so its over kill.I LOVE my thinx period panties as I own at least 10 pair by now, those and dear kates... came across these a few months back and decided to give them a try, they do fit smaller but the snug fit for me is reassuring as far as leaks may go... none the less, I wore these when I had breakthrough bleeding and they were awesome! No leaks. I didnt feel wet at all.I just ordered another couple pair in a size bigger now that its offered and in the boyshort version as the others I have are hipsters. If you want thinx and cant afford them, these are exactly like thinx but more affordable!I bought my daughter some to throw in her moon box once she starts her cycle, could be any time.Definitely a great product.5
