Faulty productWe purchased these for our dance school and when we received them, placed them with our first aid supplies. When we went to use the first one, it did not work. We re-checked the instructions, tried that one again, and tried another one. Then another one. We ended up trying 10, all of which did not work, so we aren't going to bother with the rest. Unfortunately by the time we needed to use them the return window had recently closed.1CrapI purchased these to keep on hand during youth softball games. These were cheap but you get what you pay for. They stay cold for maybe 5 minutes so you go through a lot of them. Guess that's why there are so many in the box. I will spend the extra money next time and get better ones from Rite Aid that stay colder a lot longer.1Great for sportsWe got these for all the sports that our boys play. My husband helps coach a lot of the sports including tackle football and baseball and I don't know how many times we have needed ice for someone. Here is Arizona it is hard to keep ice packs cold even in an ice chest so these are absolutely perfect for us. The day we got them we had to use one right away and they worked wonderful. I love that they are smaller and not too bulky and I love the big pack of them.5Enjoy a chuckle at the instructions that say to only ...OK, on the plus side you get a lot of these on the box. On the negative side, you're going to need them. Enjoy a chuckle at the instructions that say to only use them 20 minutes at a time - because that's literally how long they last! I'm used to cold packs going about an hour, but these were dead in almost exactly 20 minutes. Just something to think about.3A Good Cold Pack For Small AreasThese instant cold packs from Dynarex are handy for treating localized areas for a short time. They are rather small, but that's an advantage for me as I keep a couple in my luggage when I travel. They do get very cold, but since they are small there isn't much volume for the reactants inside and they don't hold their temperature very long (maybe 10 minutes as a guess.) They are difficult to activate by hand, and that's why they lose a star in my rating: the "Squeeze Together Here" instruction in bold print on the package is laughable. In fairness to Dynarex, other brands I have tried have the exact same problem, and I realize that you need to make the inner container easy enough to rupture that an average person can successfully activate it, but it can't be so easily activated that any slight compression in a piece of luggage or gym bag combines the reactants. If you have a problem activating the cold pack, just put it on the floor and step on it smartly. Works every time without any issues (I have never had the outer bag rupture.)If you need a small cold pack for short duration activities, these Dynarex packs are a great value and work as well as other brands given their size.4good buyI bought these for camping so that if would always have ices packs if needed. They are easy to use- just pop them and they turn cold almost instantly. The only issue I have is that they warm up in about 5-10 minutes.5If you coach, you need these.Super amazing find to keep with coaching gear! I coach boys soccer and they are always getting hurt on the field. Ice is not always a fast option, so these are amazing to keep in my gear bag. I have used them on many occasions. They can be a bit stubborn when bursting the internal bag, but they activate quickly and get quite cold. They certainly do the job to instantly cool the area. This was the best priced product for the quantity provided and the size of the bag. This is the perfect size for my use. If I need another to cover a larger area, I have plenty.5Junk.These are junk. I bought them for a first aid kit. I used it for the first time tonight. It clearly popped and is all mixed in but it doesn't feel much colder than water out of the tap. Size and convenience factor make it easy to keep on hand in the car, or in a backpack if needed for minor accidents or pain.5Would not buy againFirst of all, based on 4 different attempts, squeezing the packets will not actually pop the water bag inside these, which is required to get them to get cold. Oddly, when you squeeze the bag, you will feel a little bit of cold, which initially I assumed was the packet working (very poorly), but it was only after cutting one open to see what was going wrong did I see the intact water pack. Using my heal to sort of punch it on another one actually got one to pop and the bag cooled down.I hesitate to say it got cold, but it was better than nothing. The water dissolves the crystals to generate the cold, but it only lasts a few minutes. Not sure if they need to add more crystals or not, but I am not sure these are worth the weight and space to carry in my first aid bag. Going to look for a better system.2
