Disappointing FitI ordered this product thinking it would help to protect a bunion while working. When I put the item on it didn t cover the bunion. I tried pulling it several different ways with no luck. Additionally, there was noticeable gapping on the side of the bunion. I hoped it would be helpful in spite of the fact that it didn t fit the way it did in the pics used to sell the item. I walked my dogs wearing the pad and within a few steps it was coming off of my foot. Since this insert was not working for me I printed out return paperwork to find that the item could not be returned. I should have been more careful when purchasing the item to make sure I could return it. Thankfully it was inexpensive. I won t be recommending this product. 2It's a good product that gives me a lot of pain reliefThese worked perfectly for the first month. Then, maybe because I wear them daily, they began to roll and stick to themselves. I have a second pair that I also use. I started using spray antiperspirant on my feet prior to putting them on and that helped tremendously. It's a good product that gives me a lot of pain relief. ves 5Gel rubbery foot protectorThe gel like substance these are made from is both a positive and a negative. It feels cheap, like I won't get very many uses out of these things. I've worn them 4 times, with different results each time. The gel does not stay in place very well. You get it on your foot, and have to carefully stretch your sock over your foot, so it doesn't grab the rubber and roll it down. I am not very successful at this. Once I had issues with my left foot, once my right. The area over the pinky toe part of the foot was rolling down with my sock and creating a roll that became an irritation over the course of my shift at work. I had to strip my foot down, to fix it.The third time, neither foot was comfortable, at all. I still don't know what happened. I took them off, and put them in my locker. So finally the fourth night, it was ok. Nothing too great or too bad. When I took off my socks that night, I discovered the right one was half stretched down my foot. I don't think I will wear them again. I need something a little more sturdy and less movable, so they will stay where they are all night without rolling under my socks. On a more positive note, when they were on, they were fairly comfortable. Squishy soft. My feet liked them. My callous on the side of my foot felt better. I just don't think they are what I am looking for. 3Absolutely Recommend this Product.I absolutely love these and they have made my day so much better. I am often on my feet for work and these have helped my feet ache less and the ongoing pain in my feet has gotten much better also. 5Pain relief for capsulitisI have capsulitis of the 2nd toe (pain in the ball of my left foot), especially painful when walking barefoot on our hardwood floors. With this toe sleeve and a pair of socks, the pain goes away. The sleeve is a little bulky to fit inside a pair of shoes, but I'm definitely going to experiment. Packet comes with two (left and right), but you can easily flip one inside-out. Voila, two left sleeves. 5CushyThe 3rd joint of my 2nd toe gets inflamed. Any moderate or excessive walking will cause more discomfort leading to some crooked foot walking to compensate. So far I've used these sleeves when doing about 2 1/2 hours of mowing and yard work and they really help. I wear a compression sock over them and cushioning I get results in no pain when I'm done. I plan to tape them in place and play softball. I think they will perform well 5These pads are amazing!Daily walking is my form of exercise. I usually walk about an hour after work and enjoy it very much; however I have been having a problem with getting sores on the bottom of my feet, due to my cotton socks and the constant rubbing against the skin as I walk. So while poking around on Amazon, I came across these Dr. Fredericks Original half Toe Sleeve Metatarsal Pads. My thinking was this is just what I need, so I ordered them! I got them in the mail last night, immediately put them on and went for my walk. I have to say that this was the most enjoyable walk I have had in a long time. These pads provided so much comfort and I did not have my usual soreness and chaffing after my walk. One of my concerns was are these pads going to shimmy and shift around as I am walking ? That did not happen at all. They stayed right in place. I am so glad I bought these. I will not go walking without them! 5False advertisementProduct states it prevents blisters but did the complete opposite. 1 Star just so I can post the result of using this product. 1You need these if you have stressed out your metatarsal bones!Seriously these are a must have if you stress out your metatarsal bones. When I was training for the Rim 2 Rim Grand Canyon hike I really aggravated mine to the point I was hobbling around daily & thought possibly I was not going to be able to hike the canyon. I tried lots of things nothing helped. Then I found these little beauties!!! First I would liken it to walking on marshmallows, if you can even imagine. Weird I know! :) BUT seriously as soon as I stuck them on I had instant relief!!! I had to wear looser shoes as I do have wide feet & I needed to adjust for them plus my socks. I wore them for 2 weeks solid before I took them off to walk without them, I was good as new!!! I did my hike with no problem, these were a total adventure & foot saver! 5better than product podiatrist sold me.I have a plate tare on my foot beneath my second toe that I needed to delay surgery for, the only product that has helped relieve the discomfort is Dr. Frederick's open half toe sleeve. It is much less expensive then what I purchased in the doctors office and works considerably better. It is a simple yet very effective design. 5
