Not as pictured...but taste deliciousI bought these nuts for my mother, who is on a very strict diet. She raved about them, and said they were delicious. However, I was a little disappointed with the presentation. The product is not as packaged...It came in a clear plastic bag with no label on it at all. The picture made the package look so cute. Oh well, for the price, it's still a great product.4I hate to write a bad reviewWow, I hate to write a bad review, especially with the company not having an opportunity to maybe rectify the issue. However, this is the first purchase of MANY Amazon purchases that I ve had this type of problem with. My mom and I were excited to purchase these for baking and when we received them they were beautiful walnuts BUT NOT FRESH! They had no crunch left in them and the flavor was stale. We unfortunately could not recommend this product based on this particular purchase.1Nuts about these NutsNuts mean a lot to me because they are a big part of my diet. I know what I'm looking for--freshness, age, and taste. I don't like old nuts; I don't like nuts that are falling apart because they are so old. Sometimes I get nuts and there's already a cup of powder in the bottom of the bag; that I don't like. These nuts were not like that; they were exactly what I was looking for. I'm more skeptical of walnuts than any other nut because they seem to be delicate. These were in nice shape, smelled good, and the ones I've eaten have been very nice.5Great Nuts!I'm from California where I grew up with walnut orchards around my house, so I know my walnuts! These are Great Walnuts! These nuts have fresh mild flavor, better than any store bought nuts. They are good sized and well cleaned. The majority of the nuts where 1/2 sized and the majority of the pieces where 1/4 quarter sized.I will definitely order these again! (I was in no way compensated for this review)5My new go-to walnut sourceI could not stop eating them straight from the bag. Seriously. As soon as they arrived I tore into these bad boys.They came in a heavy duty Ziploc-style bag, so you could see what you are getting. The Use By date is December 2015, so you know these are fresh. Turning the bag over, there was just a little bit of walnut "dust". I get this much dust from smaller sized bags.Opening the bag, all you get is a nice walnut smell. No musty, stale smell at all. The nuts were in very good shape and large. These are not "baking-ready" sized pieces, if that's what you are looking for. These are exactly what they say, halves and pieces, heavy on the "halves". They have the perfect "buttery crunchiness". Plenty of crunch, but full of that heart healthy oil.Kirkland Signature halves and pieces was my go-to walnut in the past and I was quite pleased. But these are better. These cost a little more, but for the difference in quality, especially taste, I have to go with it.5Excellent product from Farm Fresh NutsHaving grown up in California's orchards, I was somewhat apprehensive about the claim "Guaranteed Fresh". If I am buying California Walnuts in May, it is not possible for the nuts to be "Farm Fresh". To my surprise, however, the walnuts have a very fresh flavor. Unlike 'Kirkland Signature' walnuts, there is no musky almost rancid taste. I will not hesitate to purchase these nuts again. Furthermore, given the positive experience I have had with this purchase, I will certainly purchase other nuts from Farm Fresh Nuts!Just as a heads-up, never store nuts in an acrylic or plastic type container. The oil from the nuts seep into the these type of containers and greatly decrease shelf life and taste (not to mention that the container can never be cleaned). If you find a need to store the nuts in some other vessel, always use glass. I have kept these nuts in the resealable bag that they come in and, after almost one month, have not noticed any change in taste.5After reading the excellent reviews, I had to try for myselfAfter reading the excellent reviews, I had to try for myself. They were right...the best walnuts I have tasted (and I'm pretty fussy about food). Nice fresh pieces and hardly any "dust" or fragments. No off-tasting or old pieces either. I poured a serving in a bowl, then ground up a bit of course sea salt over them. My mouth waters just thinking about it now. My only complaint is that they got devoured too quickly! These heart-healthy, protein-packed walnuts are a must have!!! Will be ordering more!5Fresher, better, cheaperI use walnuts several times a week to make banana bread, brownies, oatmeal raisin cookies, and chocolate chocolate chip walnut cookies. I also use them in couscous as a substitute for expensive pine nuts. It was time to buy in bulk. These walnuts seem fresher than what I got at the grocery and the bulk price is significantly less. I recommend freezing them to keep them fresh.5Not a single bad nut in the bunchFarm Fresh Nuts has always supplied very fresh, high quality nuts. Their walnuts are no different. Not a single bad nut in the bunch. I trust Farm Fresh Nuts and every time I am looking for nuts, I go to them first. These are delicious.5NOT BITTER! Very creamy when added to salad dressing, excellent quality nutsI blend balsamic vinegar, honey, water, a couple of handful raisins, maybe a clove of garlic (maybe not), and a big handful of walnuts, put it all in the blender and it makes the creamiest, sweestest most delicious dressing I've ever had. Also added to smoothies, and tossed into a salad - they are DELICIOUS, not bitter at all. I will order again.5
