Price rising, great mintsI love Altoids, particularly the Wintergreen ones. I like that they dissolve in your mouth (and the Wintergreen ones seem to do it best). I would give these 5 stars, except that I have been subscribing for several months and started at around $15; price has gone up every month.4You will get a good mint every now and then and you will get ...Wintergreen - If you have read other reviews about the flavor being different to the ones back in the day they're mostly true. You will get a good mint every now and then and you will get that nasty overpowered flavored mint every now and then. Overall I still really enjoy these mints more than any other mint. They last long and personally they help me when I'm feeling nauseous. I usually buy them when they're around 17 bucks for the pack seems like a pretty good deal as oppose to the local stores.I have tried the peppermint and those were just too strong and overpowering flavor but if you like that strong mint taste rushing through your breath, peppermint would be the right choice.2BEWARE they have ruined these - read this they may not be what you expectThe original white mints were gentle and pleasant. For some unknown reason they changed the recipe and they have become these bitter, horrible tasting green thing that are just disgusting. Why would they mess with something that was working???? Well I foolishly purchased this huge amount figuring that they would last me for some time, however, they are just so horrible that I cannot use them...and they cannot be returned...so in the trash they go.If you are expecting the smooth white mints that they used to be, then look elsewhere...THESE ARE NOT THEM.1Wintergreen is my favorite flavor and I had trouble finding it in retail ...Wintergreen is my favorite flavor and I had trouble finding it in retail outlets and could not find it anywhere in more cost-effective 6 or 12 packs. I found it here and it is way cheaper than buying one at a time when I could find it at a retail outlet. I am not a flavor connoisseur so I can't comment on whether the flavor has changed from years past. I do notice with this flavor that the candy pieces are bit more crumbly and that the tiny flakes and powder that break off the pieces are rather sticky. I think the flavoring ingredient may be oil-based which leads to this stickiness. It's not a problem, just an observation. The "best by" date on the tin is 18 months out so I think the product is pretty fresh. I'm a happy Wintergreen Altoids advocate.5Missing the Power/StrengthI love Altoids and have been enjoying them for years now. Therefore, I like the tins with the latest expiration date. For example, the longest expiration dates are 18 months in the future, so I want to receive those. However, I don't. I can tell the worker just pulls off the shelf whatever is the closes to them at the moment they are filling the order. If I don't get the ones with the longest expiration date, they aren't as strong and don't seem as fresh to me. I wish there was a way to add comments to our Amazon orders.3My favorite Altoids at a great priceFirst, I should admit that I'm a wintergreen Altoids addict. I can easily pop a handfull in my mouth and chomp away until they're gone. That said, it's understandable that I might want to buy Altoids in bulk. The product is great and the price is better than I can find at my local grocery, even when they're on sale. My son saw the package and said I need an Altoids intervention. I'm trying to cut back but they're so deliciously refeshing I can't stop. Love this product and the price.5Not just a breath mint.After 60+ years of smoking, I decided to make a change. I replaced the pack of cigarettes in my pocket with a tin of Altoids. I keep one tin on every flat surface in the house and one in my truck. I've managed to decrease my smoking from 1.5 packs a day to one cigarette a day. Every time I feel the urge, I pop an Altoid or 3.Of course, your mileage may vary....5Different flavor than small Altoids blech!I bought these because I had previously purchased the small tin of Altoids Wintergreen and had really enjoyed them. The big ten, however, is a mint that is 10 times as big and has a COMPLETELY different flavor. Very weak at first but when bitten into, has a jarring over-mintiness not subtle at all like smaller mints. Very disappointed. Not inclined to be bothered to return so I ll just give them away and learn a hard lesson... blech2A Good ValueI get teased about my "addiction" to Wintergreen Altoids. If you love wintergreen flavor, and want a nice, strong, refreshing mint, these are great. I used to like the Lifesavers brand, until I had these, and now those "Wint-O-Green" just taste overly sweet and otherwise bland...and for breath freshening? No. These Altoids are where it's at when you need a breath mint.I love the metal tin, not only for convenient carrying in my bag, but you can use them afterwards for holding various little things, if you so choose. If you eat enough to want a constant stock at hand, like me, then these are a nice value because they are cheaper when bought in bulk like this. I've never received expired or stale ones either, and I get these quite often.I'm not a fake profile, nor have I been compensated for any reviews...in fact, the reason I take the time to review purchases when I can is due to the fact that I find other honest reviews helpful and am tired of all the fake reviews that have polluted this site. Thanks and Happy Shopping!5Expensive but worth it.I have loved Altoids since I first tried them years ago. WIntergreen is my all time favorite but they are hard to find locally (and impossible to find in multiple packs). I keep a tiny in my locker at work (no food allowed on the work floor) and grab a couple on breaks to give me a nice refresher. The newer WIntergreen (they are a green/blue color as opposed to the old ones which were just white) are still good but not as intense as the old formula. I'm sure the manufacturer will deny changing the formula but I have been hooked on Altoids for well over 25 years (and have the hundreds of tins to prove it!) and the formula changed slightly. They are still great but I do miss the old ones.5
